Sigh. Life is so messy, is it not?
First the great, amazing, fantastic news: Lillie and Michael are out of school for the month of July, having finished second and fifth grades respectively! AND- both got EXCELLENT report cards, AND- Michael is reading at a second year college level AND Lillie tested in the top 1% of the nation in reading! I have the smartest, coolest kids and I’m so proud.
Now… the scary, worrisome, unhappy news: My dad is having some sort of medical crisis. He is undiagnosed as of yet, but his symptoms are severe and we are worried. Today he had “an event” and was told by a doctor that he should not travel. So mom and dad won’t be going with us on vacation.
I’m not sure what to do now. Do we go or do we stay? Today’s episode was frightening and I wonder if we should be leaving him and mom when he’s this sick. If something happens to dad and he ends up hospitalized who will take care of mom? How will she get to and from the hospital? If we are two days away by car, and something awful happens and I can’t get here, I’m going to freak!
Sigh. Hopefully we’ll know more about what’s going on with Dad tomorrow. Mom and I are trying to convince him to go to the ER. If he goes and I know he’s not dealing with something life threatening we’ll go to Colorado. If he doesn’t I’m not sure what we’ll do. It’s decision time, and yesterday.
What a mess.
